Berry’s Second Litter
Berry’s second litter was born on July 19, 2022. She made up for a small first litter with 8 puppies, 5 females and 3 males. She’s a great mom, properly attentive to her brood.
The proud papa is “Yorick”, GCH Dhowden Funny Business (SCWTDB ID 16841), bred and owned by Denise Bendelewski.
Homeward Bound
Time passes so quickly. One minute they’re just opening their eyes, the next learning to run around and eat real food…and then…they are off to start their new lives. As always, I am so happy to have great owners join the Banner Wheatens Family. So here they are, puppies with their new names and new families:
(L-R Top) Basil (“Pink”), Kelly (“Lime”), Millie (“Red”)
(L-R Bottom) Rory (“Green”), Sally (“Yellow”), Phyllis (“Purple”)
Oh, you noticed a couple were missing from the gallery? That would be the two who are sticking around here for a while: Wilson (“blue”) and Robin (“Orange”) And doing the usual puppy things…exploring and ignoring me!
Mornings with Pinch
Great Grandma Pinch, age 12, helps wake up the pupsquad…
Fifth to Seventh Week
Yes, it’s been busy!! The gang is continuing to have a great time and they get bigger by the second. They got their “puppy gym” and have given each toy a good workout. They gave Great Grandma Pinch greetings for her 12th birthday. Big Sister Sprite got some up close contact. And of course, Momma Berry still gives them attention. And then…they rest!
Fourth to Fifth Week
All about changes! The puppies sleeping area changed, with the addition of an ex-pen to their box…they were trying to be clean by using the papers but there just wasn’t enough room. Then they got to move to their daytime space in the main living area…toys, beds, adult dogs, household sounds. They immediately took it all in stride!
Third to Fourth Week
Food, glorious food! The puppies learned there’s more to fine dining than mom…and liked it, even when the service was a little slow. But once those tummies are full, it’s time to sleep it off! Berry still loves them but is glad to be getting a break.
Second to Third Week
This week is about “waking up”…eye opening, getting onto their feet and toddling around. And sometimes, it’s hard to get a photo that’s not blurry! But stay tuned for more changes in the next few weeks.
First Week Plus
When they’re pretty much just blobs nursing on mom, it’s hard to imagine how one can sit and watch them all day and take photos…but you can! The puppies with the Blue, Dark Green and Lime Green collars are the males. Females are Yellow, Orange, Red, Pink and Purple.
